Cool

Another night shift slowly drifts by.

Its almost 3am in the 'sunny' UK and i'm knackered.

I work for NATS (National Air Traffic Services) looking after the air traffic control computer system.

After two years hard work i finally completed my first shutdown and start up this evening so i'm now officially valid! Looking forward to getting home at 7am getting a bit of kip then cracking open a bottle of the red stuff and getting pissed.

Anyone else working shittie hours like me?

The only bonus is i spent 5 hours minting the E60 earlier so i have a spanking clean car waiting in the carpark for my thrash home!

Here are my hours. It's a 4 day work week and 2 days off. The first 2 days are 4pm to 1am. and the next 2 are 8am to 4pm. On the second day we have what's called as turnaround. The reason it's called a turn around is because we work till 1am and have to come in the next day at 8:00am.

Hmm... How comfortable should I feel about my wife and kids landing at Gatwick Monday morning? And me on Friday?
