5series.net is so dead these days......why?
I'm still here as well, but mostly reading (or mostly only glancing around). I think the forum has been dying for almost 2 years now. It's not only the redesign.
By the way, I'm not seeing old members in person too much haha!

Same here. Pop in occasionally. Not a lot going on, so not a lot to contribute to. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy though. The more nothing's going on, the less there is to participate in. I've pretty much learned everything I ever needed to know about my E60, so I rarely have a reason to start a thread.

while this board may have taken a step forward in terms of being "up to date" in comparison to most others it has consequently deterred most of the veteran users. While I still frequent it quite often I share the same sentiments as most and pretty much hate the new layout. It's whatever tho. This place, at least for me, will never be the same.

I think the reduced activity is really more of a function of the maturity of the E60 model. While in the early years this site provided invaluable information the car has been around so long that most can simply search and find what they need without posting. The older guys are still around but there simply is not much to talk about concerning the E60 for many of the old guard.
As for the F10 and older 5 series cars such as the E39, this forum never caught on with that crowd and they have largely migrated to other forums for information on the new model.

I still lurke around from time to time but do not post. There doesnt seem to be anything new really going on, other than a few members with with awesome upgrades. I think everything has been discussed at this point.
Would definetly like to have a NY meet with some of my old forum buddies and new members in the spring.

Im on this site a couple times a day, not really posting but reading and learning. Pictures threads still seem good to me. The way this board was redesigned seems very comparable to a different forum board i visit for a different hobby and this just seems, as simple to navigate.
Hopefully, the lack of posting has something to do with the approaching winter season.. maybe members are not tinkering with their cars as much. I for one lurk the boards quite often
