I think the E46 would lose to the 550i top end (100+), but low end would be a close call.

Yes, the Tail of the Dragon is an infamous stretch of road on the TN/NC border near the Smokey Mountains. See Tailofthedragon.com for information. There are 318 curves in 11 miles. There are literally no straights for that entire length. It is a haven for motorcycle and car clubs. I have been there 7 times and have done 46 runs, most have been video'd although only a few are online as we may exceed the speed limit here and there.

A rock slide a month ago has caused the road to be closed. It may open soon for some of the day because a HUGE volume of requests had been sent to get it opened ASAP because of all the tourism it generates for the area. NC even volunteered to help with emergency and law enforcement because they'd benefit most from the tourism.

I pulled away from an E46 M3 with ease. Kept up with a 135i began began to gain at 80+. For some reason, 335i is a little harder. Seems like they're a little more powerful than the 135i. Mebbe since it's heavier, the turbo pushes a little harder? Iono. I can pull from a stock 135, 335, E46 M3, stock 550i. But when I drove the 335, it feels faster. I think it's due to the turbo that makes u feel that way. I ordered the SB V2. Hopefully, that will solve my problem and save me $8000!!!

well i guess if there were traction issues then the 550i would be the one which would suffer.
