One reason to never build or buy a house at the end of a street, in direct path of oncoming traffic.

i am saddened and embarrassed that they are in the United States Military. They should be ashamed of themselves.

This same thing happened on my street last August, during a power outage. My friends live at the end of a street and the car just never stopped! Drove into the garage wall, severed the gas line to the house, broke through the electrical box of the house too, and NEVER caught on fire! The car was wedged into the wall and the weight of the second story had it stuck there, we didn't know if the house would partially collapse when they removed the car or not! The guy was underage, and driving drunk during a blackout...what a piece of work this kid was! My friends house is still not completely put back together yet either! The fire department brought out the urban search and rescue truck, a department spokesman and everything! It was quite a scene, and as the power was out anyway, we were all hanging out there with our fellow neighbors watching it all unfold, ah yes, life in the burbs!
