I had a custom box made for my e39 and it fit in the indented area right above the battery. It was like this Stealthbox but about half the size. I had an old 10" Kicker powered by another old Pioneer 2 channel amp. It took the signal from the rear parcel shelf speakers which I removed because they resonated a lot. A line level converter was also used. I paid maybe $400 back in 2005 and they only the car for 2 days. Only problem with this is that your car smelled like some sort of resin for about a week.

JL Audio is getting a little ridiculous with their pricing, lately.
Example: I've got a JL Stealth box in my Mustang and I paid like 400-500 bucks for it. When I looked into getting one for my Supercharged Saleen (2005) They wanted 1000 dollars for the enclosure and speaker.
It seems like everyone wants to arbitrarily ask some exorbitant amount of money for stuff lately. It's awful easy for people to ask 500 for this and 1000 for that.
Maybe it's our fault. As long as we pay these stupid prices, I guess sellers are going to keep asking for it...
There are a few things I want for my E60 M5, but out of principle I just won't pay the money.
Seriously... 500 bucks for a carbon fiber shifter bezel? Get f'd guys...

Personally, in a down market I prefer to take the money from my competitors by giving their customers better service.
I can make the same money or more by doing business that way, instead of gouging at the pump. Once the market turns, everyone remembers who was good to them and who wasn't.
I've got a list, that's for sure.
