GROUP BUY: DENSION Gateway 500 (GW51MO2)
got another question, so i'm getting ready to pull the trigger on this, however, what coding do I need?
I have a 2006 M5 with MP3 in dash CD and CDC in the glove box. I'd like to keep my CDC and just add the dension GW500 on top of that. Is that possible? And, what coding will i need from the dealer?

You might be good to go and I believe that is the ideal situation.
I didn't have the CDC or mp3 enable, so had to have the dealer program that (ran me less than $200). I did the actual installation though and it is relatively easy... just look through some of the DIY posts here for tips.
My understanding is, with your setup, I think it is truly plug-n-play, and I believe one of the great benefits of the Dension is it is one of the few options that works with the CDC. So probably no coding at all.
I've had mine for a month or two now and it is truly one of my favorite mods... and truly functional and that I use every day. I don't even remember the last time I listened to the radio. I have a 320GB Toshiba hard drive hooked up to it, which it has occasionally not seen or locks up, but disconnecting and reconnecting in the first instance and switching over to the radio and back in the second generally takes care of it... so less than a minute of inconvenience.
Don't know whether you'll have enough room to mount on top of your CDC, but the unit is much smaller than you'd think... not much bigger than a portable hard drive, so you probably could mount in the glove box if need be.

Also just purchased a 16GB thumbdrive for $30
Joe, I'm very interested in this fantastic piece of heaven. I can't sent PMs for some reason, but could you please let me know how I can go by acquiring my very own GW500?
Thanks
Thanks
