i can see radio names but have not got mp3 upgrade
im having the ipod software upgrade done next week to allow me to see track names from the dension as at the moment it just shows track0-track99 in cd5 lol

So I'll still just need the MP3 upgrade for the GW500 to work but I'll just get track0?
Can you point me to the bulletin that gets this upgrade for free.
So I'll still need the full iPod upgrade from the stealer to see track names?

After some more reading about how the dealers won't code for CDC w/o a BMW CDC, guess I'll also need to:
a) find anyone in or around Madison/Wisconsin who has an official BMW CDC I can "borrow" (anyone?).
b) find anyone just about anywhere who might ship me theirs... still probably cheaper to pay for that and shipping back than to buy.
c) worse case, buy a CDC, hopefully cheap off eBay, which ironically I'll have little to no need for afterward.
Love BMW, but some of the hoops to jump through are a bit ridiculous. Oh well, anxiously waiting for the Dension to arrive in the meantime.

yeah dont need the mp3 upgrade its the ipod upgrade u need for track names
dont do it at bmw get it done at a bmw specialist !!! far as im aware u dont need the cdc in the car for the ipod programming

To work via the iDrive? I don't think so 
... sorry ...AFAIK the only Dension compatible w/ iDrive (MOST interface) is Gateway 500.
