i thought the ipod interface replaces the cdc
so if you have the dension 500 u dont need the ipod interface
just the idrive might need to be mp3 updated
altho iv read posts on here sayin u dont need mp3 enabled?
im gonna plug it in see wot happens / take to dealer to have mp3 enabled if it dont work lol

hey guys i'm pretty new here. So I'm trying to keep up. For my first mod. I would like to get the Denison as well, hopefully i can still get in the group buy. I have a 530 '04 no nav, no cdc. If I heard it right all I need is to ask my stealer for an Ipod retrofit software upgrade (1 hour labor =$190). Then pretty much a no brainer DIY for the install, Correct?

I guess with some people on here is a no brainer install, but i'm to scared to start tapping wires in my glove compartment. You may wanna ask like Blastiwi or Nigxdoof on what experience level it takes to install the dension.
Fairly simple. You can always look into the glove box and see if the CDC cable is configured right. or even there.

I had the BMW dealership install the IPOD integration kit for me. So they setup the fiber optic cable for that. With the change of the dension, I just unplugged the ipod kit and plugged in the dension (had to just re configure the fiberoptics, and tap into the power that was going to the ipod kit and Viola. It works.
