Why does it say PRE-LCI. is there a different unit for LCI model as I have a June 2007 LCI car. It has multi chager and DVD drive does play MP3 as I have tested it already.

Do you know what the shipping to UK would be as may be intrested.

Also out in Vegas mid April so can it be sent to hotel if I pay using PayPal with funds cleared before hand.

Hi!
Some clarifications:

1. Currently the IVE1000 can be used only for aftermarket displays.
Usually the OEM displays can accept video signal only when they are in TV-Tuner mode. The TV function is an option available only for Professional head units.
In theory the Gateway 500 is capable of simulating a TV-Tuner besides the CD Changer (just with FW upgrade). But this option is not relased yet.

There are AM video-break-in devices for both Business and Professional head units. Dension doesn't want to offer these kind of devices.

2. All non-MP3 capable models are working with Gateway 500 but without text! That means very limited user interface compared to the full folder browsing.
The Business head units (M-ASK, 6.5" display) cannot handle MP3 through CD Changer interface -> the Dension Gateway will work in non-text mode only.

What you need for full Gateway functionality:
- Professional head unit
- MP3 capability
- CD Changer enabled

This will be seriously cool if you can do this. Because then the Dension will be far superior to anything out there. It will have USB, card readers, iPOD and Video capability. There is not a single product out there that does all of that with complete integration. I guess all you have to do is emulate the TV tuner signal on the MOST instead of the CD Changer.

when i had my gw500 built into my car, i was also given the option to watch video but the price quoted was nothing near the 2 digits. if it was this cheap, it would have been a no-brainer..
OT:just for you mate come to Budapest HQ and they will do it for cheaper GW500 works also in E70 X5!

Good luck guys with the group buy and that is nice.

When I first heared of Dension Mp3 I thought it was made in the USA lol although it is a Hungarian co and product.

GW500, thanks for all the great answers. I was hoping you'd chime in.

I was waiting on AutoMobility's (US distributor) tech support to get back to me. They didn't have solid answers to my questions, so I was told it would take a couple of days to email and get a reply from Dension (since they're in Hungary). I didn't know e-mails took that long to travel.

So is it still possible to hook up a video source to the NAV screen via some 3rd party unit? If so, how much extra?

And Joe, how much are you charging for labor to do the install?

Basically yes, but not "instead" but besides CDC.

May I have a question? Are you, BMW users basically happy with the factory Bluetooth module? Compatibility, pricing etc?
Are there many cars out there without that option?

I dont think people like the price they pay for the module. But the integration is simply great. The Navigation, Voice Control, Bluetooth and Audio are all nicely put together. Any competing product will need to provide such integration to be successful.

Yes, it is possible through a device such as NAV-TV (http://www.navtv.com/). I'll be installing the NAV-TV with the Dension GW500 via the A/V extender (IVE1000) in my car in a couple of weeks. Give me some time and I'll work out a package price on everything with install for you locals. I'd like to see how much work's involved first.

Sounds good. I recognize it will probably be somewhat of a labor intensive job, so let me know. I have an 07 just like you, so it should be the same setup.
