Hollywoodtrash came by RPI this afternoon with his pre-LCI 550i. New scoops will have to be fabricated b/c it can't use the existing M5 scoop like the 545i.

just a thought on design, shouldnt these scoops have a curve to them. instead of a sharp 90 degree turn in like an L shape, but more of a curved ( without the sharp edge at the turn in. i think the air would flow more smoother?

RPI, any thoughts on the quote above?
I may even rip out my clothes dryer duct and try it myself...there's another post about something like that on here.
we can then try out all 3 designs to see whats most effective.
Both added.
The 545i has been test fitted and fits well (same as the M5 model, except single scoop).
Pre-LCI 550i models required further modification, which will begin in 1-2 weeks.
LCI 550i model will be test fitted next week.
Price will be $99 across all models. RPI will keep us posted.

still waiting on how to works with afe intake. and i live in NYC where there's rain and snow. will the scoop guide the rain and snow into the intake? i'm afraid that the intake will suck in water and i dont really believe that a non-turbo engine will burn off the water that easily.

But I'll let the others with experience chime in.
