NeRwEEzy has V1 scoop (same design as 545i) installed on his 2007 530i Steptronic. If I recall, there wasn't any gains to be had. We're looking to get a 530i with either a 6speed or SMG in for dynoing. This would provide more valid dyno numbers. Please NO STEPTRONIC.

 

so if im reading correct....all the guys with auto 530's dont need the scoop as it has no gains?

 

with my dynos, it kept showing a gain, then a loss, then a gain, then a loss. just kept fluctuating each time. highest gain it showed was 8hp back then. reason is because my car was a steptronic. back then I posted about it hoping to get a manual 530 or smg in for dynos. member fantastic5 stepped up and it showed gains that the scoop can be based on since he had a manual transmission and no ecu remap. hope this clears things up

 

yep it cleared things up quick....so when can we expect them for the people that paid and are waiting ?

I've been on the list for a scoop for my 545 waiting to see the final results, and I'm glad they show verifiable gains. But I recall a thread about the scoop not fitting perfectly and owners using tape and other materials to close off gaps between the scoop and the intake box. Is this accurate or do the scoops infact mate perfectly with the intake?

 

Tested 11/26 with gains on a 2004 530i. Results here.

Stock vs RPI scoop. We did not had any information about any power gains for the 530i with the V1 scoop. The other two 530i owners, NeRwEEzy and Fantastic 5, both have custom scoops thus their numbers were not valid even though gains were reported. Clearly, a gain can be seen from the mid-range to top end with a peak gain of 4rwhp.

 

Did you order the BMC filter as well?
