so let me get this clear.. after we order the scoops, we will have to "fabricate" our own little wedge like foam spacer? if so that sucks..

No. Rizbel took it upon himself to fabricate the foam spacer. It's not needed at all. The scoop works fine without the foam spacer.

When you put in the top two screws it does seem kinda flimsy but then once you screw in the bottom it a lot more stable, I couldn't see the need for the foam block behind it.
