Hi Gang:
Out of the loop. When is the new M5 expected? And, I assume that it will have the same turbo V-8 as in the X5 M. Right?

Haven't seen you for ages, Don! I don't know the precise answer to your question, but it's good to see you post - welcome back! It seems the M5 will be a 2012 model, I'm not sure if the engine is based on the X5M powerplant or the one in the F10 550 but it's probably going to be nudging 600bhp either way..

Hey Don...good to see you're still out there somewhere!
I think you probably won't see an F10 M5 by next June but I think it wouldn't be too long after that. Unless you have to decide today as to what you're going to do, I'd say wait a bit and get some more concrete information as to when the launch date will be. You might even be able to get on a wait list now at your dealer to be sure you have as much control over the situation as possible...
Good luck...don't be a stranger!

Thanks Rudy. It's good to hear from you too. And, thanks for the thoughts. I will take your advice. For one thing, leases can be extended by up to a year, as I recall, when waiting for a particular car. Best, Don

I think it's 6 months, Don. I'm in that exact predicament right now.

The E60 M5 came out in 2005 and the E60 5 Series came out in 2003? So I guess the F10 M5 will be out in 2012? I also want to know if the M5 engine will be X5 M engine...the more interesting question is if the next M6 will have the same M5 engine like now...and also when the M6 will be out...since the next 6 Series is coming out end of next year...middle-to-end of 2013?
