AFAIK They need to remove the dasboard and change some parts of the fan house.

A little bird told me that BMWs aren't made the way they used to be made.

Sorry, couldn't resist . I'd go and buy an F10 right away if I could .

Nothing to worry about as you guys have the warranty still for a long time. I would only be concerned about the mechanics' meticulousness when they're putting it back together. I would hate to notice squeaking or rattling after the surgery.

Dear Antti,

Thanks for the nice cartoon pic!

Have you ever heard about a brand new BMW model without any small problems - no not me neihter.
At first I felt like the car was a joke: the transmission wasn't working right, the suspension
was bad and so on. After 2000 km's all the problems where gone.

But now the extended AC (in front) is in fact wistling sometimes.

But otherwise the F10 is a huge refinement compared to the E60, but not a perfest one

This do suck.

Last time, in my '05 E60, they did spoil the "wood" trims and it took three visits to fix it!

Best of luck to you cars surgery!

Yeah of course I know there is always some kind of problems whatever the car was.
Like I said, I would buy an F10 hands down, if I just could.

I hope you get the problem solved soon .

As they where since the '80's. Always small problems in the early cars...

f11 520 d sport auto
Some problem sometimes whistles and in the lowest speed its very "noiseble".
When i turn on the rear resistence window in rainy dayes it starts to pull hot air from the front dasboard even if i turn the temperature to 17ēC.
sometimes i haver all the time heat in the front window, and in the foot, and inthe midle ones cool (i dont know if it is suppose to work like that).
So:
1) Is this part of the whistle problem?
2) the problem is just the whistle? (i suppose i can live with that)
3) turn out all the dashboard (it really scares me) i think the quality of the assemble will not be the same and you will get NOISES.

So What to do?
