I got some info from my dealer while I was choosing the features of my new 535 factory order about the new Combox feature which is being installed in the F10 starting with Sept production. This new Combox is an extended bluetooth that incorporates alot of new functions. It replaces the TCU (Telematics Control Unit) which had been used. The Combox is updatable and I'm told it will improve compatibility with cell phones. See page 5 of the attached BMW Newsletter for details which also has some other interesting info.

I'm also attaching a detailed specs list for the M-sport package for Canada and full specs on the Canadian vehicles.

Thanks for posting...from what I can tell at first glance, the Canada version of the M-sport package is the same as the US version...

Nice. So if I read this correctly, one no longer needs to order the iPhone adaptor cable / kit. Does anyone know how different phones support the new features:

While the Combox hardware can support all of these features, proper functionality also depends on the capabilities and functionality built into the connected mobile phone or portable device. At present, no current device will support ALL of the above listed features simul- taneously, however, our technology partners will soon be releasing compatible phones.

Speaking of Combox features, I wonder if the following "My BMW" iPhone app (from the UK) is a sign of things to come for the US market?
