I don't think it's worth it. It looks a bit awkward to me in the front. It looks like it was made only for the e92 mtech but bmw just couldnt think of a new "look" so they transferred it over to the new f10.

The car will not be any better with the M Sport package, the wheels will fore sure look ugly.
Depends on what you want to do with $4,800. Do you have any other use for the $?

Depends what you want from this car. Will it be just "transportation" for you or you want to "drive" it. If second then go for M-package and you should not worry about interior colors or wheel design (go for 19") and most important it always will be for 5 cents more expensive then non M when selling.
And get a quote with all options you want with and without M package and you`ll see that difference is about nothing.

For the driving experience, the M-Sport (2011 specs) contain the ARS package which can be added to the regular Sport Package to get the same driving characteristics. You can add Sport Auto with Paddle shifters to either.
Based on 2012 specs, the net difference between an M-Sport with ARS and a regular Sport with ARS is just $1200 more for the M-Sport.
Seems like a bargain for the full body kit and other trim differences(M-Sport door sills, Sterring Wheel, Foot rest...)if you like the M-Sport look which many of us do.
Someone mentioned hating the M-Sport wheels, many of us love them and their more classic BMW look more than the 19" Sport Package wheels; they are especially better when I think of ease in cleaning the inside barrels of the wheels.
Comparing apples to apples, M-Sport is definately worth the difference!

As for looks, I think it really worth it. It was not a factory installed option on the 535i '08.

The M Sport makes the care look so much better. I wouldn't get a F10 without one.

I am in a similar situation. I will be stationed in Germany by Feb next year and am looking at the best model/combo to spend just under $50k. Currently looking at either the new 3 Series M Sport or 535i. What 6 cylinder 2012 model would you guys build around this price range. I'm also aware of the insurance policies out there. I might have to put that into consideration if the insurance is a lot more for the twin turbo.

^^^ You may want to contact either GEICO or USAA for a German Insurance quote. You can expect to pay much more $$$ for a policy there compared to the states.

Personally I save the money for the Mtech and spend it on this package!

Considering you get a body kit, different wheels, upgraded suspension and steering, I'd say:
HELL YES!!! It's most definitely worth it!!!
