I guess BMW could defrost that underground bunker full of frozen engineers that they keep around for when they feel like fast-tracking an entire product line Same with the dozens of third party suppliers that have been given target dates now moved up 18 months.

I've got a shiny $100 bill for anyone driving an F10 in March 2009.
We don't really know if BMW's original plan was not March 2009. The Jaguar XF, Porche Panamerica, New MB E, were not secrets and BMW knew about them before we did.
Anyway we are all guessing, maybe we will hear something at the NY Auto Show next weekend.

Although it is true that that "model timeline chart" that's been floating around here is now about 3 years old, I think that
the only reaction the competition will create from BMW is to upgrade the E60's engines and re-configure their pricing/standard
equipment BEFORE the F10 actually debuts. (i.e.>Twin-Turbo V8).

If Consumer Report is what you basing reliability ratings on, then none of us should be driving a V8 E60 as it's not even rated. The V6 one doesn't score well either.
V-6 as in what car? I'm not aware that any of these discussions involved cars with V-6 engines.

As in M35 or GS350. Any of these two cars can run circle around E60 when it comes to reliability.

First of all, he said

The discussion was revolving largely around BMW and Jaguar.

So I don't think that's what he was referencing.

The Jag only comes in a V8, but I think he just misused the "V".
Its hard for guys like us to move to another brand unless our lives have changed somehow. BMW is the hardest core sports sedan, more so than any other competitive brand. MB comes the closest. Lexus, Audi, and Infiniti all have compromises to the Ultimate Driving Machine mantra. Either the traction control is too intrusive, the steering feel is too detached, car leans too much.
Huntington Jaguar offered to do a private introduction to the E60.net members, with test drives and technical discussions. I'm sure lunch as well.
Its great when the competition gets closer, because we all benefit with better BMW's.

Very nice car, however competitors are launching new models every year, and it is difficult to imagine that BMW would modify their whole planning for that, especially since the technology in the e60 is perfectly up-to date if not top of the line.

I dunno, I would think (hope?) that everyone knows that BMWs don't have a V-6, esp. people here.
