Definitely go for the E60 M5! It is already a classic. You will NEVER get another chance to own an NA V10 M Power monster in this lifetime. NEVER. Turbos are the unfortunate future that will be here b4 we want it to be, so if you want to experience the thrill of a lifetime each and every day you own your beast, there is only one option. The E60 M5!

My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.
It really comes down to personal taste. I find it funny when some people say "theres nothing like a V8," as if to say that its somehow better. Some say "theres nothing like naturally aspirated," again a general statement that only has value to some.
If you want the highest performance vehicle then you have a basis to make a decision. If you like having the "new" model," then again there is a basis for decision. If you want to wait a few years to let the bugs work out, again you have a basis.

I had the same decision to make and I chose to lease an E60 M5. I got a good deal on the numbers from BMWFS. I think leasing with the current numbers is a bad idea. You could probably find an '09 for a good deal(my dealer has one sitting on the showroom floor for $79k). Finding a '10 might be tough as far fewer were ordered by dealers citing the economy and the end of E60 production. That being said,if I had not ordered mine and if I were to look for one now I would look for a used one CPO. I will wait at least two production years before moving to the F10 M5.

I've been giving this quite a lot of thought, and I'd be interested to hear anyone's opinion on this. Personally, I love everything about the E60 M5; body style, interior, and engine. I love that it's naturally aspirated, and I love the exhaust note (especially with the Meisterchaft GT2 setup ). I think we can all agree that it's a beast. Now we have the F10. We're closing in on what it may look like, and from the renderings alone, I do like it; I'm just not that crazy about the new TT V8. Of course, you can tune it for incredible power (as if the stock horsepower isn't enough), but it's straying from a long line of predecessors that contained naturally aspirated engines. With the new transmission (derived from the E92 M3), and the turbo setup, we could all probably expect some sort of problems to arise, but again, that can happen to any new production vehicle. I would love to get my hands on the E60 before the V10 is discontinued, but I'm still torn on the decision. Any thoughts?

not sure how many "bugs" there will be, as the computer components are the almost the same as the f01 correct? And this is not the first year of the TT V8 engine either.....
