Just drove my 2011 Space Gray Metallic 550 home. For those who have not seen the car in the flesh, just let me say that it looks incredibly striking and lithe in person - much better than in the magazine shots I have seen. My initial impressions are that this car is so much more luxurious than my 545 while still retaining the connection to the road that we have all become accustomed to in our BMWs. I did not really push it on my drive home as I want to be careful during the break in period, but there was a sense of effortlessness to the moves of the car, this car is powerful and you can tell even if you are not utilizing its full potential. Sadly, they drove my 545 off for appraisal and I never saw her again, never got to say goodbye. She was a good car.

I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow, it was kind of stormy today so I didn't take her out until this evening. Spent the day setting up Sirius, Homelink, Bluetooth and ripping some CDs to the hard drive. One thing of note on my drive this evening was that although the car is extremely quiet I did notice more tire thrum than I remember in my 545. Maybe it's the goodyear run flats, my 545 had regular Continentals.
