the X3 definitely fills the void for the "cross-over" market. I still think BMW should bring the x1 to the states as well. I would expect the X3 numbers will continue to improve once lease rates improve and/or the m-sport pkg is made available...

By all accounts the new X3 is a much better car than the model it replaces. Ride, handling and the interior fit and finish look to be leaps and bounds ahead of the prior model. It's a bigger car too - not far off the dimensions of the original X5.

My dealer told me they just can't keep up with the X3 demand. They're selling as many as they can get their hands on.

What's funny is that since they're all built here, the maximum time between order and delivery for US cars is like 3 weeks!

true, but I'm sure production and dealer allocation is limited since it's a new design and all....glad to hear your local economy is doing so well..

Hey Gene, you are partially responsible for an increase in February sales! (Even though it should have been a 2010 sale)

I agree that the allocation is likely smaller than normal for my dealer but either way, I think BMW has a hit on it's hands with the new X3. I imagine in some time, once they're able to get enough of them, they'll add some to the loaner car fleet so I'll eventually get to try one out for a day or so.

Speaking of the loaner fleet, the other day I saw them prepping a new loaner that I'm going to ask for the next time my car goes in...an Alpine White 5GT! Should be fun to check out for a short time, eh?

Back on topic, can someone post the February numbers from M-B?

I have the E Class numbers off the top off my head - they were identical to the 5 Series, only 9 units separated them.

I'll post the others shortly
