I hope so but this is not what BMW is telling me. They say that prices will be around 10% more than
the equivalent E60 models but will have a few more options included as standard.
It seems that for many (European) markets they have equipped that car with the today optional "Advantage" package for the E60 as standard on the F10.

I agree, it seems as though BMW likes to put its price increases right around the 5-10% mark, so I would peg it at 7.5%. What is truly scary is that we are coming upon the time where a BMW is more expensive than the equivalent offering from Benz. I think BMW has to be very careful here.

I don't think BMW really cares to lower pricing. In this economy, they aren't expecting to break any sales records...they just want to limit their losses and expenses. There's enough of a loyal BMW following for the F10 to sell...enough to keep their heads above water. And when demand falls, BMW will just cut production....and its never going to fall enough for them to cut base prices. Even if the F10 truly doesn't sell well right after launch, it would still be waaayyy too early for BMW to offer any incentives or rebates....at least not in the first year.
