Angry F10 N55 Scratches on cylinder walls

My 2013 F10 with N55 engine was misfiring. Mechanic changed cols, plugs and injectors. Issue persisted. He took it to the dealer and they put a camera and found cylinders 3 and 4 have scratches on the cylinder walls. Crazy. All oil changes and maintenance has been done at the dealer. I bought car in 2015 as a CPO car. Now has 85k miles and out of warranty. They tell me I need a new engine. Compression is within specs but pressure leaks under leak test. Anyone else have this issue or hear of this? Any recommendations? help.

Sounds like a mechanic has dropped junk into cylinder doing plugs or injectors to me. The misfire could be unrelated to scratches. What made them investigate inside cylinders ?? Did they find anything inside cylinder or is it likely sitting on top of rings down the side of piston.
You should try get and keep as much documentation/ photos as you can. Hopefully you can prove issues started after the injectors and plugs where done. Any damage on plugs or injectors?. Keep everything that comes off the car.

No recent services were done. All services were done under BMW CPO agreement and by the same dealership since first owner. Car was sold new by the servicing dealer. Only service not done so far under CPO has been one oil change. And that was done by the dealer. Misfire started before any mechanic replaced plugs, coil, or injector. They replaced the injector only because of the is fire issue. So issue was occurring before the mechanic did any services. I have pictures.
Not certain if I have any recourse back to the dealer or BMW in general.

This is an interesting read. Regarding N55 engines running a bit too hot. The oil service duration is not something to follow, it’s better changing oil and filter at 3-4000 miles intervals.
