My Ride: 2012 520d ED
F10 Door panel Remove
Onmy 2012 520D {F10} I decided to install Ambient lighting under the black veneeron each of the doors but the only problem I came across is was where to put the12v supply from the LED strip, there is a 2 wires going to the speakers 2 wiresgoing to the light under the door and 8 wires going to the power window switchand that’s it. I tested all the wires on the window switch and I found 1 12vsupply but this is constant and this is not suitable because I need the OrangeLED strip to work when the side lights is engaged. The backlight on theswitches I think is only 3v but maybe I am wrong, has anyone tried this beforebecause I need help. (See Photos)…. If anyone needs help on removing the doorpanel just let me know

My Ride: 2012 bmw 550
Check out the video below from the guy who's installing a door speaker. From what I can tell (11:17 minute mark), the ambient light power source's coming from the speaker. Seems kinda strange.

I have seen Fibre Optics kits on ebay in all colour but is it worth the trouble, I think next car I will get it factory installed.
