On Autospies.com, today, there is a comparison between the F10 and MB E-class. Needless to say the MB looks like a POS especially with the retarded 1980's styling.
The F10 is really growing on me now.

I'm sorry, the new Infiniti M is not a good looking vehicle. It's very bulbous - and has way too many sort of flowing lines. what it lacks - elegance. The inside hasn't changed much, and the type of curvy waves continues there.
The Lexus GS is of course old (that's not an IS as someone claimed).
The MB design goes back to the square shapes, which is fine in its own way. The interior still doesn't seem that great.
F10 looks great to me. With some new technologies going in, there's no way that E60 will increase in value. The only thing that looks better with the E60 is the front and headlights. Everywhere else on the F10 it's just more athletic and purposeful. yeah it resembles the 7 and 3 in some ways, but we are purely talking about design here, not design trend or history.

Great input BigMike.
Must say the F10.
The front looks only BMW, and the interior is very fine, on the pics at least.
I saw the other day the F01 rear lights in the dark, and I suppose the F10 has similar,
a absolute winner!
