I currently own a 335d which I love. It's a tad bit too small for my 3 child family so I'm looking forward to the possibility of upgrading to the new F10 when the 535d arrives in the United States (U.S.). That is of course if the 535d arrives in the U.S.
The N57 currently offered in the F10 is quite a bit more powerful (300 HP) versus the N57 in the 335d (265 HP). From what I've read, it's due to better ionization of the diesel particles due to higher pressure from the injectors. The 535d apparently does 0-60 in 5.7 secs compared to my 6 sec car. Not bad at all for a car that weighs 4300ish lbs??
Some might say get the 550i. It's an impressive car, but I love my low end torque and the persistent grumble of my diesel engine. Plus I love getting 40 MPG on the highway. You can't do that in a gas version.

I can't understand why the 535d isn't sold in the U.S. - the 535i isn't sold in Europe either (at least it wasn't sold when I lived there).
