xBMWx,
I had a girl friend like that once. She did new boobs, teeth, hair removal, liposuction, fake tan and breath mints; she was hot.
If we all have to this much to the F10, then BMW screwed up.

From the sounds of it, I'm glad she was in the past. I agree though, if it needs that much tweaking, it looks to be disappointing.

I was kidding, but I'm sure I rented girls like that.
The great thing about the E60 was that it set the new standard. It was controversial, had new technology, better performance, etc.
If you can make the car look like whatever you want, make it look like an Aston Martin and stand apart from the crowd; Don't get lost in it.

I'm afraid BMW has lost the leadership position. I say that hoping I'm wrong.

Stay away from Trixie, unless you like junk bigger than yours.

Well there is nothing really like or dislike. It really just looks plain/vanilla. Maybe the standouts will be whats inside the car, as far as electronics go.

I understand your point, but don't see it that way...
I never wanted a standard E60 or E61, so do not expect to be particularly thrilled about these "standard" F10 shots either. I like the more purposeful sports look, such as the m-sport pack that BMW offers with all its models. So I don't think they screwed up if I don't like the standard version, its just not my taste, but the foundations are there and fingers crossed they get it right again with the F10 M-Sport pack

I totally agree, but I will have to order one by May/June of 2010 and they usually don't have the M-Sport pack out that soon after introduction of the model. I guess I could extend the lease for 6mos or 1yr.

BMW has certainly chickened out on the design of the new 5er. It looks Japanese. competent and not innovative or inspired. It looks like the very conservative 3 er sedan. Clearly BMW has lost its design confidence. The e60 was much more innovative and forward looking. An Audi is looking better all the time when my lease runs in 2010.
