I recently purchased a fine, used 2013 BMW 528i X-Drive and within a couple of weeks the Diver Restraint System light comes on and components within my steering wheel have broken and stopped working (air bag, horn, cruise control). I see this is an issue with a number of owners and was wondering what BMW has done about this. It seems there is no recall scheduled for my model. This is a serious safety problem: no horn or air bag. Before I contact BMW, I would like to hear the experiences of other owners who has had this problem and what they have done about it. Does anyone know if the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration been contacted about this. Has BMW taken no responsibility for their faulty wiring and airbag malfunctions.
