Do you know what kind of numbers they going to get for tt V8. It can easily be something like 500hp/600lf? Who will need an M5?

More probably! TT V8 is 516hp in Alpina B7, so Dinan may be even higher

In my 535 I got 28% more horsepower and 40% more torque. The horsepower on the straight six was limited by the 50% larger lenght of the crankshaft (potential flexing) over the V8. Otherwise you could get 40% more hp as well.
With the TT V8 the stock numbers are 400 hp and 450 ft lbs, so you should be able to get up to 560 horsepower and 630 ft lbs using the same metrics.
The existing M TT V8's have 555 hp and 500 ft lbs stock.

The Stage I software for the TT V8 looks like it will be +70 hp and +80 ft/lbs to 470hp & 530 ft/lbs.
Stage II will be higher.

+70 bhp to a base of 400 sounds on a TT seems like a pretty conservative tune geared more toward durability and reliability than ultimate performance. The torque figure is off the hook and should make for some killer starts. 530 ft/lbs is a tire-melting number.

Thats a stage I, which is detuned to be a little cheaper to buy. Stage II is where the juice is.

the issue we have to keep in mind with these TT tunes is that tuners, whether Dinan or anyone else, cannot just add the hp and ft/lbs without considering the effects of the turbos. I dont think they can offer any more that these types of figures without requiring additional harware for cooling. So, these may not be offered as just remaps in thiss case, they may also require a new radiator and so on....when we look at what Alpina did, they added significant cooling to be able to ensure proper running temps and reliability. This is a new world that BMW has opened, and we dont know what the effects will be...i would not want to be one of the early adopters of any tune that did not have the additional cooling equiptment, just look what M added to the trucks to get them to be within tolerance levels for reliability.

If Dinan offers a stage II, im sure it will have to have a radiator kit as part of it....time will tell

M630,

"The Dinan Performance Engine Software safely increases turbo-boost pressure from the stock 8.8 to 13.0 psi, along with properly retuned fuel mixtures, ignition timing and full map rescaling. In fact, over 2000 lines of code have been addressed, producing substantial increases in power output while maintaining the civility and reliability expected of a Dinan performance product. Some examples include: Remapped Water Pump Speeds. In an effort to more effectively control oil and water temperatures, the Dinan software actually increases water pump speeds as boost pressure increases. Boost Pressure Control. Increased boost pressure exceeds the turbochargers? design limitations at higher rpm, potentially shortening their lifespan. Dinan addresses this issue by tapering the boost gradually at higher engine speeds. This approach also addresses the fact that with increased boost at higher rpm the turbocharger temperatures would exceed the intercooler?s ability to cool the intake charge, resulting in a loss of power and compromising the long-term durability of the engine. The tapered boost keeps temperatures within the design limitations so as to optimize output and ensure engine reliability with the added boost pressure."
