Well it is anyone's right to choose to buy a car based on their own criteria however most people and myself included choose a car that both drives the way I like it and looks the way I like it. It has NOTHING to do with impressing others. Most people dont even know the difference between an e90 and an e60 by looks alone and it will be the same for the f10 v. the f30. I have enjoyed cleaning, waxing and looking at my car for 4 years-its one of the most enjoyable aspects I have had owning my e60. I used to gawk at them before I owned one-thought it was beautiful. So for me it was more about the look and I figured all bmw's would drive nicely.

There are too many cars that are close in performance to disregard looks IMO on a new car of that price. Merc's, audi and cadillac all are playing on the same field as of now, all have equal handling give or take and they all feel quite similar-all are trending toward luxury over sport. So IMO just no reason to buy something that doesn't look good to you as there are plenty of choices.

I love the e60-I am torn between a new m3 or a used m5. To this day I think the e60 is just the most amazing looking car out there. sooo ahead of its time and still looks as modern as anything out there. I could care less about what others think is my point-its what I ENJOY looking at day in and day out but to each his own.

For that kind of money, you shouldn't "have to" embrace something you don't love to stay with the brand.

Exactly. Can't imagine forking over $70K+ for something you don't absolutely love. I've owned 7 different brands of cars in the last 15 years. Even though I love BMW's (I've owned 1 E34, 2 E39's, 1 E60, 1 X5, 1 F10), I am a Car Guy first and foremost. Life is too damn short and there are too many damn fine cars out there to box yourself into one brand! As they say, variety is the spice of life. As much as I love my F10 550i right now, after my lease is up, I'm most likely headed towards an Audi (S6 or the new sexy A7)--my first Audi...or back to a Porsche Cayenne.

The wife's 2011 X5 has been in the shop for 38 days straight now and they gave me a 535 for my loaner. I am good to my SA so he is good to me. Well after almost a month I can say that I am not ready for the F10. I am holding out for F10 M5 in a few years so I am hoping it lives up. Yes it is large, and I did not get that "I cannot live without this car" feeling. It was not a 550 or did it have a MSport package which I would hope would transform the car. Really like the interior but going back and forth to my 550 made me realize I still like both. The car is soft but I am sure that is due to the absence of a sport package. I like the front but I don't like the rear. I can say that I DO NOT LIKE THE ELECTONIC STEERING.... Very sloppy and did not feel like it was precise. I hate to say it but it kinda felt like I was drinking and driving when I was on the highway.
