ED does not expedite the shipping process, IIRC ED cars get in/out of the VPC faster tho....
I actually think it's worse in terms of wait time, as you get to drive your car for a few days in EU, then fly home only to still have to wait for it to be shipped across the pond...but in terms of price..ED does have it's advantages....

True, but I think the advantage of ED is that you get to really test out the capabilities of the car much more than you would otherwise on US roads. Plus, you get to tour Europe in a brand new car.....lots of fun!

Rudy, you finally broke down and let the excitement get to you! I thought you weren't going to track your car?
Hopefully you get on the Patriot! My car arrived in Brunswick, Georgia which was a surprise to me. Like you, I though all east coast cars went to NJ or Charleston to go through the VPC. Obviously BMWNA has changed that...
RE: ED, when cars are shipped to the states after ED, the wait can be quite long. The customs process for new cars that have not been delivered to customers is much shorter. For a car you have already taken delivery of, customs is a long process with some reports of cars being stuck at the port for two weeks or more just waiting on customs clearance...

My Ride: 2011 F10 528i - Imperial Blue, Oyster/Black, Premium, Premium 2, Cold Weather, Xenons.
My car was week 40 production, 9/30/10 actual. It left on 10/8 on the Curitiba, another K-Line ship like the Rockies Highway... which is maddening due to lack of tracking. I was able to track mine a couple hundred miles from Southampton, then picked it back up near Brunswick GA yesterday. This morning when I arrived at work, there was a fax on my desk showing that it was scheduled to arrive today at the Port of Charleston, and is scheduled to arrive at the VPC tomorrow.
Call your CA and get a printout of the "build sheet." It will tell you what ship, what date, lots of good info.
Now I just have to wait until my PCD on 11/24. (32 days from now)
