I dont really think it looks that much different...aside from the head lights.
I like it nonetheless but dont feel like it dates the e60...unlike the e39 to e60 change.

When the e60 came out I thought it was a joke. Front end Reminded me of Dame Edna. Trunk cut out looked absurd.

Now it is sexy every time I look at it. I see new lines and angles. I think BMW caught hell for the bangle butt and is more fearful of a design that does not look like your typical BMW. I like the F10. It appears like it would have been a better replacement for the e39.

Remember when all BMWs looked the same? Only difference was size?

+1

I almost feel like the e60 and the F10 were released out of order. If you had never seen a BMW before you could definitely tell that the e39 was the oldest, but I think it would be difficult to tell between the e60 and F10.

I'm sure people will disagree with me but I have to say that I think the order is correct.

While the F10 is not as bold of a design as the E60 was, it still has some crisp, bold lines. The reason I think people are thinking it's more like the E39 is that it seems more "tame" than the E60 but -- and here's where my theory comes into play -- it only looks that way because the E60 existed in the first place.

In other words, if the F10 design came out after the E39 (and nobody ever saw the E60 design), people would be complaining that the F10 is too bold, too progressive, to radical, etc. Look at just the E39 and F10 side by side and try to forget about the E60. Looks pretty bold, doesn't it? The reason nobody is talking about the bold design of the F10 is because the E60 has become "normal" looking so anything that moves away from the ground-breaking design trend of the car we all love is going to look "conservative" now...

Does any of that make sense?

No, but it sounds like we're back to that! (which is why many E60 owners are disappointed )

Yes, it makes total sense to me -- it's what I have tried to write for months before the F10 came out when we could first make out the body shape.

I find the lines and curves on the new F10 amazing. Just look at that hood in the pic a few posts above this one, and you can see how curved the doors are in other pics. I'm confident that peeps are going to like this car a ton more when they see it in person with the Sport Package and blacked out window trim (in glossy black, please, thanks), and even more with the M-tech kit and their personal choice of wheels.

As many have pointed out, most of us here modify our cars to make them as sporty as possible. Hardly any of us would buy the non-Sport, regular versions we have seen to date. They're much too 'regular.' Put it this way though: If something as ungainly as the 5GT can look so much better in person, and we have seen many of these observations posted here and in the press reviews, try to imagine what this car is going to look like the first time you see it?

And that interior? BMW's best interior designs ever have been released with the 7, 5GT, and new 5, IMO.

I'm definitely a fan. I respect the past, and I still love my E60, but I can't wait to own this one.

i felt it looks like a mixture of 3 & 7er design..

whatever it will look, somehow it will grow on every current onwer n gain foothold on new owners..

what I wish the new F10? that BMW engineer solve the problem of current E60, that they dont need 3M tapes to plaster on its doors just to stop squeaking sound, (it happens to alot of E60 here)!!!
