The front looks like a X3 & the rear looks like a Lexus. I doubt BMW will copy others, especially a Lexus!!!

I actaully like it. I like the front more than the rear. Have we heard anything about the new 3.0 liter engine ( 3.0 liters, 272 hp ) ?

It's just an uglier version of the E90.
Exactly!

I felt in love with the E60 when I saw the first pics, and still don't think there is anything else that looks as good as it.

Impressions of the redesigned 5 for 2009, with the M5 in 2010. Also in September Automobile magazin.

http://paultan.org/archives/2006/06/...-f10-5-series/

Your impressions?
Still puzzled about the badging...

540i = 4.8l (i.e. 'old' 550i)
550i = 4.4l-biturbo (should be something like 555i or 560i IMHO to show improvement over current 550i)

Some nice boosting across the rest of the range...

520d from 163ps to 175ps.
525d from 177ps to 204ps (Just about to be boosted to 3.0l/200ps in current range)
530d from 231ps to 245ps.
535d from 272ps to 300ps (Just about to be boosted to 286ps in current range)
525i from 218ps to 238ps.
530i from 258ps to 272ps.

U-G-L-Y, I don't think BMW will step backwards like that... Anyways if the new 5 is gonna look like that... then maybe my next car is gonna be a 7... Thats just plain ugly...

Not much difference. Almost the same car. It is not like when they went from e39 to e60. You can tell the HUGE difference.

Repost..but okay! ..
Agree, not much different. This is to be expected however following the BMW design strategy devulged by Bangle. The e60 represented a huge design shift for BMW and then the nearterm cycles to follow would be iterations off the same mold. It won't be for a few cycles before the next major change in design occurs.

Too ugly for me! The design especially the back, turns the look of it more like an ordinary sedan (some jap looks) then what a bmw should look like (very athletic looks).
