So I just wanted to see what everyones mileage is and if you can post up what type of maintenance/repairs had to be done that would be great. Reason is that I'm looking at an e61 thats for sale with 100k miles. Thanks

Regular maintenance, new tires, alternator/battery change, couple of light bulbs replaced, battery recall done.
still runs smooth.

69k miles
other than reg maintenance I have had the sunroof drain lines clog up and fry the SAT/COM module - twice - which costs be a grand each time. I've also had the compressor and lines repaired on the rear suspension but thankfully that was under the CPO warranty.

Cool. Well the one I'm looking at has maintenance done until 100k via carfax. I guess the previous owner had the 6 yr warranty.
The sunroof drain/air suspension is what worries me

Maintenance = repairs:
2010:
tail gate wires
rear suspension kompressor
sunroof (I dont knoe exact what was repaired)
2012:
exhaust manifold
IBS
glow plug module
throttle flap
aux water pump
main thermostat
vapor sensor
MPM (because of the sunroof water lines clogged)
Sunroof needs to be repaired again
The others seems to managed live with very little repairing...or they just don't read (or care) all the diagnostic messages from INPA or such.
After I have repaired the sunroof (I will NOT eliminate the rear glass, I use BMW repair set to return it to full function), I guess suspension parts are next on the list. The car still runs direct and fine (early inspection "TUV", didn't find anything except one ball joint in outer steering bars).

I think the main improvements were for model year 2006. Anyway, only the exhaust manifold cracking is unbeliable mistake in desing ( I have owned over 25 different cars in my life, this was the first one where I was forced to change that part, not counting my race cars). That design was also improved in 2006, if I'm right. Ok, this belongs to diesel models only, probable not delivered to US at all.
