Hi,
I drive very short distances in city. Can be it needs 18 l /100 km diesel?its winter by the way too cold -25 C
I meter not from BC but phisicaly(drive and refill and count) BC shows 18l /100 km when the speed is 19km/h
In highway my BC shows 6.5...7.0 l / 100km by driving with autopilot 90km/h .So if there is problem the consumption in higway would be high too???
Odometer secret test 5 shows consumption 14.5 l /100 km
What the reason for that? Oil is new,Air filter is new, tyres are ok,fuel is from good brand gas station,Engine like new, only 150.000 km run The car drives smooth no any vibration or etc.Turbo has power too.
Any experience ?advice ?
Thank you.
P.S. Is the big diference E60 and E61 consumption??? because E60 owners says they cars consumpt about 12 l/100km in town and less.

I think the E60 and E61 fuel consumption will be pretty much the same.
However short journeys, cold weather and big engine diesel automatics make for very, very poor fuel consumption.
Your 18 l /100 km is 15.7 mpg (UK gallons) and at -25C with short journeys I'm not surprised.

Funny this as i was going to post a similar post...after replacing both my thermostats this weekend - 10 miles to work in traffic and my car bearly got to 80C (I had it to 90 over the weeekend so the theromostats work) - I'm going to change the temp sender next as my Audi S3 used to get to 90C within 2-3 miles, somethings obviously wrong
DIS is showing 21mpg
