My Ride: 2010 BMW 530i E61, alpine white, cream-beige interior, sports-auto-transmission and a lot more-
I think you have to go to the dealer and update I-drive,without update I doubt that the auto-trunk will work.

Well, I know so far that in my footrest I have a button with whose help I can open the trunk, it sits directly above the hood opener lever.
But I don't know if you must have this button in order to install the auto-function.
By the way: you need not only the compressor, but also the arm to lift the trunk..
