I ended up buying the battery from Autozone for ~$165 and coded it myself through INPA. Total time for coding, 2 minutes. I'd be happy to register it for you.

I upgraded to AGM. I didn't go as far as reprogramming, just registering the new battery. I haven't had any issues since the replacement, but if it goes out within 3 years I can swap it out for a new one under warranty.

Hey Cpalacay, Can you post up the brand and model and specs of the one you got? I've got a cable on the way, and will learn how to register a new one hopefully if not too hard.

Your charging system will be slowly damaging the new battery then. Most likely not enough to fail in 3 yrs but rather in 38 months when your warranty is no longer valid....

Yeah, I went thought the same saga when I swapped out the battery last fall. I just couldn't live with myself if I went ahead and paid what BMW Seattle wanted for a new battery plus the 1hr labor for coding.

Thank you for offering! Can what you have also allow access for the coding? I will not be taking my chances like you are
I just spent $370 on a battery so I'm going to make it last well beyond the warranty on it. The 2150 in my land rover is still perfectly good after 7 years.

It says its specs are:
CCA: 770A at 0°F (-18°C)
Capacity @ 20 hour rate: 95
Which is less than stock on both counts. Why would you get it then, even if it's an AGM?
