Let?s see if I get this right? You must have a playlist (m3u) for not only play one song at the time, but an album ie? Shall I replace the folder with a .m3u-file or do I put it in the folder or do I create a specific folder for playlists???

I made an M3U file using Windows Media Player but the car isn't seeing it. It was my first try and I likely did something wrong but I haven't had a chance to try again yet...

No, you don't _need_ to. Without a play list, songs will just play one after another alphabetically. A play list will let you play a few songs from one, a few songs from another, a few songs from another, etc. So you can store all your music, but just have your "favourites" in a play list which you can activate. You can still play single songs or entire albums, the play list sits there and looks like a track but would be called "My Play list 1". You can have multiple play lists, they can be located anywhere - in the root folder, in a special "play list" folder, or within the album folder... doesn't matter.

So if I have an .M3U file and I want it to show up under "Playlists," do I need to copy it to a folder called "play list?"

(I didn't realize that a play list in the root of the volume would show up as an individual track. I just made an .M3U file and threw it in with the rest of the .MP3 files thinking that the car would see the .M3U and display it under the playlist heading...)

@rudy: if u have winamp installed, u can easily save your collection of mp3s as a m3u-playlist...just put the files into playlist-window and then save as "playlist" - thats all. but i did not use playlists with my usb-stick in my 525dT yet. instead of usb-stick i am looking for a maybe 120gb 2,5''harddisk: someone experience with that? thanks in advance

I've got the playlist creation part figured out -- I'm still not sure where I have to put it (the root of the drive or in a "playlists" folder?)

As far as the drive size that works, I have had success with a 60GB and an 80GB drive but haven't had a chance to test any larger ones...
