Transmission whine when cold
My wagon has 140,000 miles on it. Just recently when i start it from sitting overnight and start to drive, there is a distinct whining sound that seems to rise and fall with gear changes (automatic) I Changed the transfer case fluid about a 18 months back and also tranny fluid about a year back. I thought it might be the steering pump at first, but that checks out just fine (no noise on turns) and i have read about belts and pulleys ect. Anybody had any similar experience? I will record the sound tomorrow to see if you recognize it :-)
Once the vehicle is at proper temperature there is no sound at all discernible. Any Ideas or similar experiences?

Might want to ensure it's not related to a slightly low refrigerant level on your air conditioning system, as it can make that same type of humming/whining noise when low.
Turn off the AC just to make sure. Fingers crossed it's nothing serious.
