My Ride: 2008 BMW 528xi

Noise at startup

Again, I have a 2008 E60 528xi

When I start the car there is a noise almost like a bang but not that dramatic... sounds like the transmission or something is engaging. Anyone have experience with this?

Hey, i get this bang too and usually happens when the car is warm. I havnt found a solution to this yet :/. I am pretty sure it is not normal tho.

Try resetting the transmission adaptations. It should take about a 100 miles before the new adaptations set in.

Check if there are any trans fluid leaks. Then check the trans fluid level, especially if there is a leak.
AFTER topping off trans fluid to CORRECT level, do the trans adaptations.
