Default Sway Bar Logic - EURO 2008 e61 M5 Wagon

Guys - I have a 2008 e61 535 LCI Touring. I also have (2) e39 Tourings as well. The first "no-brainer" Mod for the e39 Touring is to replace the stock Rear Sway with a e39 M5 Sway bar. I want to upgrade the rear Sway in the 535 Touring.

I have been reading post after post here and on other forums about replacing the stock rear Sway Bar (12mm) with the e60 M5 Sway Bar from the Sedan. Part # 33552283072 (18mm) The Mounting Brackets for both are the same - the only difference are the bushings due to the change in diameter of the bar from Stock to M5.

Then I looked up the Sway Bar used on the Euro 2008 e61 M5 LCI Wagon (20mm) Part# 33552283036 It uses different bushings due the diameter of the bar. However - it uses the same Mounting brackets the 535 does.

I had read in one of the posts on one of the Forums (can't trace my way back to find the post) a member used this Sway on his e61 LCI Wagon instead of the M5 Bar.

Does it make sense to go for the Euro e61 M5 Touring Sway for the upgrade or just stick to the M5 Sedan Sway?

Thoughts? Thanks in Advance. JT

Thanks for the heads up. I saw that in one of the posts I researched. I ran RDSport on my e34. These Sways are too expensive and basically un-obtainium these days. J

Has anyone actually been able to obtain these recently? It sounds like none of the vendors can get them...kinda like AR a few months ago.

I'd be curious to see how many members would be interested in purchasing a set if we could get them to do a one-off production run. Maybe they'd release the specs for a price provided we signed some kind of non-disclosure agreement?

Hell, I'd even purchase two or three to sell at a later date if it made a difference...

If I wasn't so damn busy, I'd try to organize a group-buy myself. Is anyone out there willing to take the lead on this?

Perhaps we should develop new thread(s) among the various forums to gauge interest?

I may be interested in a group but to get them to make some sets. I'd like to see how the car feels after I finish installing the KW V3.

I went with the euro M5 wagon bar. It certainly looks much more robust. Assessing its independent effect is difficult because I installed it at the same time as KW V3s, but there can be no doubt that the back end gets around MUCH quicker. For the price I think it is a nice upgrade.
