Just spoke to a danish dealer who quoted dkk 230 (usd 42) so I ordered one right away and will fix it tomorrow. As to the need to cut it to the right length; I think that comes from the fact that the part fits all 3 and 5 series as well as X series and I assume there's a little difference in the size of the glass on these various models.

Put the seal on with help from my 19 year old son. If it hadn't been for him it wouldn't have been possible in one sitting as my fingers are sore as heck from trying to get the old glue off. Where access was tight we used thin screwdrivers to push the glue off and that takes a while. The actual placing of the new seal is straightforward and fun. Waiting for the younger ones to come home; then we will take a test drive and I hope everyone will find the silence conspicuous...

Took a little snapshot of the old and the new seal for comparison - no extra credit for guessing which one is the 4 year old seal.

It's whisper quiet now....... Virtually no difference between just the glass; and then closing the headliner. Wish I'd known about this the day I got the car. Highly recommendable fix.

NavarroOne, any chance to ask your dealer about this, as mine was not helpful (did not know)?

Hello All,

Picked up mine too form the dealer, cost me in Netherlands 18euros, i got a discount of 10%, as a consistent client
Will try to do it on nice sunny day, "try to get this in Netherlands!"
So do we have to reset the panorama, could you advise more on this? see attached the official letter with this seal, saying that seal exchange requires coding.

i used the Panorama sunroof, mechanism
but it might be that the reason whay Dealer sells the seal longer, that the rest can be used for the middle part, i checked and it looks the same.

Hi, in terms of resetting the sunroof, you simply hold the button in the tilt position and the sunroof will run through the cycle. keep the button pressed until it stops.

Glad so many have done this fix since I listed the original post!!
