Default Strange question in case of an accident

Hi All,
Maybe a bit of a silly question which I'm curious about and which I don't want to test in real live
I sometimes look on this russian site (Авто, Техника - видео раздела «Авто, Техника» смотреть онлайн - Smotri.Com)
It contains mosly recorded car crashes on russian roads (I assume for insurance reasons nowadays most car owners there have video on board). What I noticed is that with BMW crashes (new models), once the car hits something the emergency lights/indicators seem to be activated automatically (just like airbags). Like here: Видео БМВ - это диагноз? – смотреть онлайн ролик «бмв - это диагноз?» бесплатно на сайте Smotri.com. Видеоролик v2315078b785. (go to1m59s):
So the big question is if my E61 would have this as well?

Who knows... Interesting if it would. But do you really care? Try to avoid an accident, that should be your main concern!

I agree! And no it's not a question which I definately need to get answered however just curious. And it's not something you can easily find out. Oh well.

All American spec E60/61 do this.. unlock the doors and start the flashers and disconnect the battery to prevent fires if the event is severe enough, ( among many other SRS related items) USA cars with Nav. also send out a SOS alert to the BMW system, I would imagine yours would too.

Hey you know what? Your comment got me thinking... A few times (maybe 5 to 10 times in 1.5 years of owning this car) it has happened when I was stopping, and the doors unlocked themselves, which I thought was odd, but since it didn't happen too much, or have any other consequences, just ignored it.

Could it be that there's some electical glitch somewhere related to the accident system? And where could it be?

And I can see I'd never get it fixed probably given how rare it is, as I'd get the "can't replicate issue" reply if I ever took it in to the dealer...
