well, the front "sticks out" an extra 23mm, which I know is ok considering how far under the oem 18x8 are now.

the rear will only stick out 24mm more, which also seems fine. I may need to get fenders rolled.

I don't understand the big deal up front but the car is not where I am now and I haven't seen the front fender/tire area in three months so I'll update upon more investigation.

A weird thing is the BMW accessories section, for 2008 535 xi wagon, shows the 89 in staggered fitting for the car.... seems odd.
