How could you?!?

Congrats and enjoy all the fillup's at the tank stations...
thanks
I actually feel pretty sad and guilty about getting rid of my E61 But after test driving the 545i, there was no turning back -- I just had to have the V8.
We currently fill up with fuel about once per month, so it may be once every 3 weeks now... well may not during the first month

V8 gasoline is sure the picture of history...sorry. mpg goes up more than it could think, especially when kick downs.

The sound and feelings i can write its something else, and its true: the poor-ones drive by diesel

Just signed up on this board and looked at every photo in this thread - but haven't seen a single E61 in Barberot Red! Are they really that rare? They seem to be one of those 'love/hate' colours.

I just bought a CPO 2007 530XiT here in Canada - the car is from Montreal, I bought it from a dealer in Regina SK and drove it home to Victoria, BC. It seems to be a rare find, both in terms of the Barberot Red colour (which people often seem to mistakenly refer to as 'Barbera Red') and in the fact that it's got a 6-speed manual transmission. Don't have many photos yet, largely due to it being winter and the car is rarely clean (we get mostly rain here and almost never any snow), but here's one from the drive home from Regina.

That color looks good on an E61. I've only actually seen it on a 650i before. I do think Barbera Red is the more common US name. Maybe Barberot is the German translation (or French for Canada?)

Welcome to the forums.

Ah yes the wheel dilemma problem! I?m trying to figure out what I will do as well for a summer setup! The only difference is I?m looking for 19?s!

Good luck my friend!
It is indeed difficult to choose. I also really like the looks of a 19 inch rim, but I think it will compromise the comfort and usability a bit to much.

Seems I was slightly mistaken - the actual colour is called "Barberarot Metallic". Not sure if this is the same shade that is known as Barbera Red in the US or not. Regardless, it's an interesting colour as it seems to look quite different depending on the light source and intensity. Definitely looks the best in direct sun though!

thats exactly what I wanted to say - in German its "Barberarot" which makes it "Barbera-red" in English.

the colour is absolutely beautiful, the only car I've seen live in it was an E61 with the same rims as yours, same chrome trim BUT beige interior - and it made me want it there and then!

I was never a fan of the dark red, in pics it almost never looks good, and it is indeed very rare, even in Europe (where people are presumably a bit more "conservative" in terms of colours). When I looked for my car, I saw just 3 red cars on pictures (out of maybe 2000) and did not go and see them live. So when I saw this colour live last month, I was stunned how classy, but at the same time modern and somehow "technical" it looks. Just gorgeous. I mean a BMW must leave a technical impression, and not a "romantic" one like lets say a dark red jaguar or something.

I still love my Onyx-Blue and being an Individual colour its certainly much rarer than even the red one, but seeing the red live was certainly a big surprise for me.

on board and congrats on the new car. Looks great, especially against the white snow back ground

Enjoy!
