I've just had my new E61 delivered. To my surprise, the car is fitted with a sport steering wheel, the one with aluminum inserts. When I was ordering the car, I opted for a standard all-black steering wheel to save 300 euros.

Is it the manufacturer's mistake or the sport wheel is standard now?

If you ordered the sport pack it should be standard and congrats on the new car. Make sure you to post where you are from in the profile and set up your sig to let everyone know what kind of car you have.

Thanks! No, I have no sport pack. And no other apparent reason to expect the sport wheel

With us in Belgium, the sport-steeringwheel with aluminum inlay is not standard. I ordered it as an option for around 110 euros i thought it was, certainly not 300.

By the way, the steering wheel in the sportspack (M-pack) is still without the aluminum inlay.

Check your optionlist again and if it is not there, it means you're in luck !

Then congratulations are in order. I personally love the sport steering wheel. If you were to buy that as an after market option here in the states it would be around $1000us installed or much more because you also have to buy the airbag.
