I tried out these headrests today at a BMW dealer ship and they are just what the Standard and Sports seats needed; horizontally adjustable headrests. You can now move them forward and backwards manually, in the same way that you can on the comfort seats electically(- I assume)
I will definately just be ordering the Sports seats next time, I personally do not see the value-add of the comfort seats anymore -- which reads I would invest 1500,- of my budget in other options.
My qustion remains the same however: is it possible to order those headrests seperately ? And what would be he approximate price in ? ?
Thx,
Tom.

My advice would be to ask your dealer for a quote and have a search on Ebay / Salesafter / etc. No doubt someone can source these for you -- but first double check with your dealer that they fit or find someone with an LCI and try yourself!
Good luck and let us know how you get on... thanks!

After enjoying driving my new 520d for about 6 weeks now I must say the car drives fantastic.
I'm just a little worried about the diesel-consumption that after 3000 km's know still is about 8.5 - 8.7 liters/100km as opposed to the BMW brochure indicating that the combined consumption would be 5.8 l/100km for the auto transmission an I'm still way above the 7.7 l/100km they indicate when driving in the city.
Probably after some time the consumption has to reduce... ?
I must also admit, although i drive calmly most of the time, sometimes i'm surprised at the speed i'm going on the highway or when i'm alone on the road i sometimes step on it.
(why else do we drive BMW
)
Probably the indications by BMW are in the best conditions and never exceeding speedlimits ?
Anyway, I 'm not going to give up pleasure to save on my consumption
Just wondering ? Do all of you have this higher consumption ?

I've been driving my pre-LCI 520d in the 163 HP version with the manual gearbox for approx. 11 months now.
Fuel consumption is approx. 7,4 ? 7,5 l/100 km after doing +/- 18.500 Km
I must say I find your fuel consumption high too, but it all depends on what kind of traffic you are in, your general driving style, and of course the fact that you have an automatic gearbox. Still, 3 l/100km difference between your figures and the official BMW figures is a lot. I guess you should add +/- 1 l/100km to the official BMW fuel consumption. Car manufacturers tend to be somewhat optimistic in their brochures & adds eh
Nice to hear you enjoy driving your car just as I do (although mine is a pre-LCI) & welcome to the forum of course.

I was wondering if it might also have anything to do with the fact that my car is reduced in power from 177hp to 163hp.

where did you get the exhaust tip? was it factory?
in germany the 520d only get the steeltip but nothing polished.
could this be a LCI thingy?
