I have also just ordered an E 61, 525i model year 2006, it will be deliverd end Oct. I do take M package too and personaly I think that the best for this package is a light colur like silver gray ot titan silver. I ordered with the second one, black lether dakota, dark rear windows+blinds and many other useless but nice things to have.
Of cousre you must have the rails on the roof. I have just seen an E61 titan gray without and it was really cheap looking.Brgds

Carbon black will scratch up just looking at it... one of the worst quality paint jobs I've ever had the misfortune to spec on a car. Next car will definitely be silver!
And with the Sport spec be prepared to replace the tyres with non-runflats - the combination of the RFs, the sports seats and the M-tech suspension makes for a farcically rough'n'noisy ride at times.
And personally I felt the standard alu-cube interior trim looked a bit odd, not a patch on the trim used in the X5 sport.
Other than that, great car!
And with the Sport spec be prepared to replace the tyres with non-runflats - the combination of the RFs, the sports seats and the M-tech suspension makes for a farcically rough'n'noisy ride at times.

Personally i find the sports seats very confortable and offer great comfort when your pushing the car around the twisty uk back roads.
As for the interior my first impressions were also that it was of poorer quality than my previous e39's (of which the x5 interior is based on) but strange as it seems the new e60/61 interior quality now seems in fact better than its predessor. Cant really put my finger on it other than the new interior to look at is so un BMW at first you may percive it to be akin to other lesser quality marques who maybe put quirky design before quality.
