As the nights have been drawing in I've noticed that my (UK) 535d Sport Touring doesn't have an autodim rear-view mirror. I've looked on the BMW configurator and the autodim function shows as Std Spec.

Should I have this as std on my Jan 05 build ?

thanks,

J

It only became standard in the UK on the saloon in March 05 so imagine the touring would have been the same.

Thanks. I think I may challenge the dealer on this as I bought the car new in May 05 even though it was Jan 05 build - a fact which obviously wasn't pointed out to me.

Do you know of any other March 05 spec changes ?

thanks,

J

The only things I can think of are:

- In-Line petrol engine range changed to N52
- Small drawer replaces the pocket down on drivers side beneath the steering wheel
- Auto-Dim interior mirror
- Style 138 alloys standard

Was in the dealer today and the anti dazzler rear view mirror is in the optional accesories brochure for 2004/5 - two different types (one including compass) for about ?250 (plus labour + VAT) - probably looking at ?400 fitted from the dealer i reckon.

It's a joke isn't it. Even the old 3 series got dimming interior mirror
I was in the same situation as you but I decided to get the dimming mirror installed. I went for the one with the garage door opener ?250 but you also need a wiring loom part ?15. Dealer charged me 1 hour labour.
Don't forget to ask for a discount on parts. You should be able to get 10% off without too much trouble....I did!
