Congrats Gorban !
You lucky son of . . .

My dealer is dreadfully slow !
No new bimmer to be seen on my drive way yet

The wait is agonizing. Especially since I was promised delivery last week.

I understand BMW has a problem in revceiving all the cars in Halmstad (where they are shipped from Germania), so it isn't your dealer that's slow. If that is a comfort...

You are partly right.
I talked to my dealer today. And I can say I first was a bit irritated because of the long wait.
But there was no need to be irritated at him. Wasn?t his fault.

The dealer told me that my car had prod. week 18. Shipped and nicely arrived to Halmstad/Sweden week 19/20.
Then nothing happened. The transportation service company that BMW uses here in Sweden must have the worst logistics ever.
Now they have sceduled my car for train transportation in another 10 working days from now.
That will be week 24 (or most likely week 25)

I?m planning to write a story called "The long wait" or "The bimmer that went slimmer"

Talking

Back after a 400 km drive and I am still pleased with the car. It's great! I took some really lousy pictures. Will try to get the time to get some decent pictures later.

What is all this bullsh*t about the idrive being hard to use? It's completely intuitive I think. The combination of idrive and ipod is great.

The new standard high gloss silver interior is a big improvement compared to the pre-LCI. This picture does not give it credit though. You have to see it.
The leather sports steering wheel is a little thinner than I remembered. I think the wheel on my BMW 116i is actually a little fatter. But anyway, it's more elegant than the M wheel.
The only thing I got wrong was that I ordered the smokers package to get the 12V outlet. It's now placed with a cigarette lighter in the little drawer in front of the gear shift. according to my dealer I would not get a 12V outlet in the front without the smokers package. It now turns out that there is an outlet in the passengers side foot well. But not if you order smokers package. Oops!

HiFi package is OK but not good. I will go for the Logic 7 on the next car. I actually think that the HiFi package in my BMW 116i has better sound.

Congrats! Very nice! Grattis! You've already managed to have driven your's longer than I've driven mine. I've hard to imagine how it is to drive a powerful stick shift diesel, my dealer had no one to try out. Is it nice? What kind of answer do I expect...

I really prefer manual gear. It's massive to drive the diesel with a manual gear box. Lots of torque but you have to move to next gear earlier compared to a petrol car. There is no use reving to the red line with a diesel. On the other hand you can stay in the high gears above 70-80 km/h and you will never have to gear down to increase the speed unless you want to play a little.

What audio system did you have in your old Saab? AS3 or AS2?
How is the sound compered to that?
I tink the hifi speakers will sound greater after 10 to 20h of playing!
Nice to see the pics!
