Rear wheels wont fit E61.

E61 can only fit smaller wheels at the rear

Hi,

My 535d touring was delivering from my dealer with option wheel 124 and tyre 275 on rear.

So I think that there is no problem to run 166 with 275...

Good luck,

Quickin

i suppose this right because i view on my BMW official dealer on 535d touring whit 172M whells equipped on front 245 and post 275.
Now, i'm sure that tyre 275 is not a problem on E61 2005.
The really problem, i dont see any installation, for now, is to use the 166M whells, because the offset is various to difference to 172M (166=ET 12 ET 28 172=ET 18 ET ).
Unfortunately nobody say to me about the problem. Bmw dealer does not have answers, only real response at today is buy 166 and install it!!!
I preoccupied to trash 3000 euros !!! without certainties

Thanks for any information is available to this.

The reason why the 275s work on the E61 is because of the wheel set that you are using.... The offsets are different to the M5 wheels. You HAVE to roll the arches a lot to get the M5 wheels on with the meaty tyres.

I might be missing the point but why don't you just buy 4 M5 front wheels with 245's on? These will fit on the rear of the E61 and look fine.
